Time Out For God

Who I Am In Christ

to be holy and blameless in His sight.  Eph. 1:4

My Testimony

Some years ago I began to experience more problems than I ever experienced in my life, physically, mentally and emotionally.  Much of my mental anguish came from the enemy’s lies.  You see the enemy has a way of convincing us that that we're worthless, even though we're told in the Word of God when we accept Jesus as our Savior, we become joint heirs with Christ and that makes us royalty.  (James 2:5)  It was as if the enemy, in his own cunning way was out to convince me that God didn't love me and doubt began to overshadow me.  It was during that period of time that my Gracious Heavenly Father began to show me ever so tenderly that He most definitely loved me and that there was no depth to His love!  (Eph. 3:16-19).  He also began to restore me and make me whole again.  (I Peter 5:10)

After months of turmoil, a question began to ring over and over in my spirit, “Who am I in Christ?”  Finally, I knew I had to find out what that question meant and decided to go on an in-depth study in the Word of God.  Also, somewhere deep within my innermost being I became even more determined than ever to find the answer.  I even said to myself, “I'll just see what God has to say about me in His Word!”

Even though I had gone to church my entire life, I had not heard about our true identity in Christ as a born again Believer, so this was all new to me.  You know Christian people are not always taught about the authority we have in Christ, who we are in Him, what our royalty standing is and what our inheritance is.  But since I knew the final authority in every issue is the Word of God, my head stay buried there for months on end!

The circumstances I had been through had challenged my faith, but because of His great faithfulness, God was helping me get through a very tough time.  After some time, “hope” began to arise from somewhere within me.  You see we must have hope to get through difficult circumstances and our hope will not disappoint us.  (Rom. 5:5)  If we have hope, we will not fall into despair.

Each day I kept my eyes and ears tuned into the Spirit; listening intently and waiting in anticipation as to what I might be shown from the Spirit of the Living God.  I was anxious to see what He wanted to show me every day.  Now that I have had that personal revelation, I'm on a mission to tell other Believers of their true identity in Christ, as well, and that is the reason for this testimony.

To tell you of the venture I took, I began with Ephesians and found that it has a wealth of information about being “in Him” and “in Christ.” Then I studied Colossians, and by the time I finished, I had covered four books from the New Testament which verified to me that I was not only loved and accepted by God, but had an awesome inheritance in Christ Jesus.

One day I was astounded when I received a beautiful e-mail with these words at the top: “WHO I AM IN CHRIST.”  Below those words were Scriptures about being accepted by God, being secure in Him, and how significant and loved I was.

On another day, I tuned into a Christian radio broadcast and heard Priscilla Evans Shirer, the daughter of Rev. Tony Evans. She spoke some wonderful things on not forgetting WHO YOU ARE.  I could hardly believe my ears when I heard her say: “Remember, don't forget who you are! You are the daughter of the Most High God, a daughter of a King, and that makes you a Princess. You have royal blood running through your veins.  Hold your head up high and know your status!”

I am still in wonder as I think about that day and remember the tears that ran down my cheeks because God’s presence was there with me.  I even ordered her book, “A Jewel in His Crown,” which I still cherish because I realize it is one God sent my way.  Her words of encouragement and sense of humor helped me more than I can tell you.

Like me, possibly you've been lied to by the enemy of your soul -- causing you to lose hope, making you feel worthless or that God doesn't love you.  But He does love you deeply and you must remember that the enemy is a liar and the father of lies! (Jn. 8:44) You must look to the One who is your Source of help in times of need and remember that no weapon formed against you will prosper.  (Is. 54:17)

Below you will find Scriptures that I found in my study, but keep in mind that there are many more hidden treasures where those came from.  Hopefully, you will use them daily to confirm who you are in Christ.

One question I want to ask you is, “Do you see how God will come to the rescue when you have a need such as what I had?  If you are a born again Believer as Jesus commanded in John 3:3, His Promises are FOR YOU and nothing will ever change that!  God will work a miracle for you too.  What He does for one, He will also do for another for the Father has no favorites.

I am so thankful to the Lord for what He has revealed to me and I no longer question in my mind, “Who am I in Christ?” because now I know:
