“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor
and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they
were created and have their being.”
Rev. 4:11

You probably have noticed that
everything in God’s creation has a melody all its own. Rain
makes a melody as it falls from the heavens and hits rocks and
pebbles with a clip clop, clip clop. Brooks gurgle with
excitement as a downpour of rain comes and causes it to rush
down a winding path that has been chiseled into underlying
stones over eons of time. The hills come alive as the winds
whir and whine and tree tops toss to and fro as if to wave their
branches in praise to their Creator. Thunder can be heard
throughout every meadow and vale as it proclaims its mighty
presence with terrific rumblings and booms. The waterfall will
not be left out as it sings a song all its own and joyfully
rushes over cliffs of granite. And when the rain is over and
the sun comes out, all of nature proclaims its praise to God.
Almighty God must swell with
admiration as He hears His creation sing their songs. He must
have loved those harmonious melodies or He would not have caused
each one to sing their song of praise.
And what about the angels who gather
around the throne of God to proclaim to their Creator and King,
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is,
and is to come.” (Rev. 4:8) Untold thousands sing their
song of praise to the God of the universe as He sits upon His
majestic throne while Jesus Christ, the Son, the spotless
unblemished Lamb, sits at His right hand. (Heb 1:3; Rev. 5:11)
Out of all of these delightful
songs, I wonder which song God could possibly treasure the most?
What could be His favorite song of all time? Could it be the
song of the pouring rain or the tune of the gurgling brook?
Could it be the wind as it whistles its song while making its
way through a glorious winding canyon? Maybe it’s the rushing
waterfall as it spills into a mighty rapid.
No, I believe the Father’s favorite
song is the Song of the Redeemed, a song that can only be sung
by every Believer knowing that he has been washed by the Blood
of the Lamb, a song so glorious that none can match it!
Many Believers sing from within
their joyful spirits, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty.
All thy works shall praise thy name in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy, falling down before Thee. Who wert and art
and evermore shall be!”
And others sing out of their
redemption, “I’m redeemed by love divine. Glory, glory,
Christ is mine. All to Him, I now resign. I have been, I have
been redeemed.”
Still others sing their praises
with: “Blessed assurance. Jesus is mine! Oh what a
foretaste of glory divine. Heir of salvation, purchase of God.
Born of His Spirit, washed in His Blood. -- This is my story,
this is my song. Praising my Savior all the day long. This is
my story. This is my song. Praising my Savior all the day
long.”
And still others proclaim: “Saved
by the blood of the Crucified One! All hail to the Father, all
hail to the Son, all hail to the Spirit, the great Three in
One! Saved by the blood of the Crucified One! -- Glory, I’m
saved! Glory I’m saved! My sins are all pardoned, my guilt is
all gone! Glory, I’m saved! Glory, I’m saved! I’m saved by
the blood of the Crucified One!”
And unknown thousands sing of their
Risen Savior: “I serve a risen Savior, He’s in the world
today. I know that He is living, whatever men may say. I see
His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer. And just the time
I need Him He’s always near – He lives! He lives! Christ Jesus
lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s
narrow way. He lives! He lives, salvation to impart. You ask
me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart!”
The Song of the Redeemed is a
different song than that of any angel because only mankind can
sing of their redemption. It’s a song that echoes to the Father
encircling the throne in praise and adoration for His complete
and utter love and compassion for them. It’s a song that is
ever so sweet and pleasing to the Father’s ears. It’s a song in
celebration of the Redemption which was purchased by Jesus
Himself when He suffered, bled and died for all at Calvary.
It’s a song of every Christian for the freedom from the chains
of death, hell and the grave that can no longer hold them. Oh
praise God for those who can join the chorus and can sing in
unity the Song of the Redeemed!

And they sung a new song, saying You are worthy to take the
Book, and to open the Seals thereof for You were slain, and have
redeemed us to God by Your Blood out of every kindred, and
tongue, and people, and nation. Rev. 5:9

Father, thank you for redemption, the Blood that cleanses us
from all unrighteousness, the Cross Jesus bled and died on, and
the song that we can sing out in praise to You for all of those
things. Thank you for the songs that You have given me day
after day and time after time. Thank you for songs that came
from within my spirit singing in praise to You. Even times
when I thought I had no song, You brought one to my heart and I
began to sing praise to Your holy name. Thank you for the Song
of the Redeemed that I can sing for the victory that has already
been won for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. |
